Hearty and healthy food. Food served fast, but not fast food. Like mother makes. Omnivores and vegetarians will enjoy a well spiced array of dishes. Have eaten there three times, on each visit to Amherst area.

Amanouz is a cute little restaurant right on main street in Northampton. It's counter service, so you order at the counter and they'll bring the food out to your table. You also bus your own table! I had some chai, which they bring in a cute silver teapot. There are a ton of veggie options to choose from. I had the falafel pita, which was yummy and filling. I also tried the almond baklava, which I had never had made with almonds before but it was sooo good. Other people ordered dishes with meat and said they were tender and well seasoned. I would definitely come back here! It's a cozy and affordable local spot. I would definitely come back here!
A real gem of a Moroccan food in Northampton! I'm not an an expert but I have to think this is the most authentic Moroccan and Middle Eastern food around. It's a very casual setting where you order at the counter, they give you a number and then bring the food out to your table. There is seating both inside and outside on the sidewalk and on a nice day it can be very pleasant. There weren't that many people when we went for dinner on a Friday evening but they seemed to be very busy with takeout or delivery orders. When they took our order they warned us there would be a wait and sure enough it took 40 minutes. But they were so nice and apologetic it was hard to be upset. The food itself was delicious. The menu is extensive and we had a hard time deciding. I had the Tagine fish, which is a kind of Moroccan stew with plenty of vegetables and a delicious broth. We topped it off with a couple of baklavas, also very tasty. I would definitely return!
Barebones counter-service place with delicious and authentic Moroccan & Mediterranean food! Their main menu hangs over the register where you order, but they also have a ton of options on their side wall as well Lot of vegetarian options and tons of desert options as well! I got the chicken kabob wrap and it was fantastic!
